The SALEWA Wildfire Edge GTX is a versatile technical shoe that can seamlessly transition from a hiking shoe to a climbing shoe, enabling your adventure to continue uninterrupted even in wet weather. Crafted with a 1.6mm suede leather and microfiber upper, the shoe features an Exa Shell over an injected 3D cage, providing excellent flexibility. Integrating the Salewa Switch system, the laces can be tightened at the rear eyelet, allowing you to pull your foot forward into the toebox, compressing your toes similar to a climbing shoe. Once the climbing is done, simply loosen the laces to return to a wider toebox and more hiking comfort.

Ensuring optimal breathability and protection from the elements, the shoe is equipped with a waterproof GORE-TEX lining. The 3F System delivers firm ankle and heel support, enabling you to walk, climb with precision, and walk out in comfort, regardless of the weather conditions. Designed for alpinists, climbers, and scramblers, the Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX is a unique technical solution that combines the performance of an approach shoe with enhanced climbing capabilities.

To further improve climbing precision, the shoe's insole incorporates an Edging Plate below the side of the foot and big toe, providing additional, directional stiffness, while the rest of the insole remains flexible and responsive to ensure good comfort and a natural rolling motion. The 11 mm drop is also ideal for fast mountain approaches or superior grip when traversing.

The lightweight, flexible mid-cut upper is crafted from high-quality 1.6 mm suede leather, with the Exa Shell providing enhanced torsional stability and working together with the 3F System to wrap the foot for better flexibility, fit, and support. The GORE-TEX Extended Comfort lining ensures the feet stay durably waterproof and breathable, keeping precipitation and groundwater out while allowing perspiration to escape. For added protection against snow, scree, and trail debris, the shoe features a stretch gaiter. The interior can be customized with the MFF+ footbed.

Underfoot, the Wildfire Edge Mid GORE-TEX is equipped with the Pomoca Speed MTN Pro sole, which utilizes Pomoca butyl compound rubber for superior grip and friction on rock, in both dry and wet conditions. The sole features a precision climbing zone at the toe, good edging performance, and well-spaced tread blocks for improved traction on soft ground, such as mud and grass.
